14.4 HV sets
HV sets are high-strength, pre-stressable screw sets. An HV set consists of:
• HV screw 10.9
• HV nut 10
• HV washer 295-350 HV
WARNING
Falling axles, workpieces
HV sets that are incorrect, incorrectly mounted or have been lubricated on-
site by the customer can cause axles to drop. Falling axles or workpieces can
cause physical damage and serious or fatal injuries!
• Within an HV set, use only HV screws, HV nuts and HV washers of the
same manufacturer
• Use only HV screws, HV nuts and HV washers with identical surface treat-
ment
• Use only HV screws and HV nuts that comply with the EN 14399-4 stan-
dard
• Use only HV washers that comply with the EN 14399-6 standard
• Do not lubricate HV sets on site. All HV sets have been prelubricated
ready-to-install ex works
• Install the HV sets correctly
• Tighten the HV sets correctly
• Always tighten the HV sets at the HV nuts
• Tighten all HV sets of a connection to the initial torque before tightening
them to the tightening torque
• Tighten the HV sets only once. If HV sets have been incorrectly installed
or are defective, always replace them entirely with new sets
