specialists installing, operating, or servicing the motor drive. The document provides information

on the product and its safe use.

œ

º

Please read the instructions thoroughly and pay particular attention to the advisory

notes concerning safety.

œ

º

Keep the instructions for later reference.

œ

º

Reliable functioning and the prevention of risk and damage are only achieved through

accurate assembly and setting according to the instructions.

œ

º

Gretsch-Unitas GmbH Baubeschläge assume no liability for damages arising from inap-

propriate assembly and installation.

œ

º

After removing all packaging, please verify if all parts of the appliance are present and

complete.

Plastic bags and small parts such as clips etc. must be kept out of

the reach of children as they are potential sources of danger.

2  General safety advice

It is absolutely essential to observe the following safety instructions.

Additional instructions in the further sections of the manual are clearly identified by the symbols

referred to above.

œ

º

Ensure that assembly, installation, and initial commissioning of the equipment are car-

ried out by trained and qualified persons only.

œ

º

Observe all regulations and directives applicable at the place of installation such as, e.g.

•

Directives for safety at work

•

Accident prevention regulations

•

Regulations concerning electrical and electronic engineering (e.g., VDE directives),

DIN/EN standards

•

Technical Rules for Workplaces ASR A1.6 and A1.7 (formerly Directive BGR 232 for

power-operated windows, doors and shutters) - ask Gretsch-Unitas GmbH Baube-

schläge for a copy, if necessary

intended; it must be handled in a safety-conscious way with due regard to dangers, and

in accordance with the Assembly and Operating Instructions.

œ

º

Attach safety devices such as, e.g., safety catches or security stays correctly and

ensure that they work properly. Verify if the opening distance of the catching device is

sufficiently large to match the travel of the drive.

Gretsch-Unitas GmbH Baubeschläge.

œ

º

Fastening material must be compatible with the structure and supplemented if required.

œ

º

It is important to always ensure that RWA installations comply with the prevailing regula-

tions. Special attention must be paid to window opening width, permitted installation

dimensions, opening speed, pushing force, connecting cable cross section as a function

of the cable length, and to current consumption.

œ

º

The drive is designed for use in dry rooms only. The actuator must be protected against

dirt and humidity.
