(1)  The address number of the interface should be programmed by hand held

programmer by project’s request before it is used to the system. The interface

is defaulted two loop, so it has two address numbers-- ×× and ××

+

1. If the

address number is required to change, modify the address number of Loop I

and that of Loop II will be added to 1 automatically.

(2)  When there only needs one heat cable, change the device type of the interface

from 8 to 18.  See

Hand Held Programmer Installation and Operation Manual

for details.

(3)  After wiring and installation, power on the fire alarm control panel and enter

system commission state. First check whether all the interfaces registered and

write unregistered interface down to find faults.  As for the registered interfaces,

they are defined as linear heat cable with device type 8 through fire alarm

control panel. See Fire Alarm Control Panel Installation and Operation Manual

for the specific definitions.

(4)  All the interfaces, other detectors, modules are registered, power on the

system and make it in normal condition. At the time, the interface should not

report fault or alarm.

(5)  The detector is made up of the interface, the terminal and heat cable. Fig. 14

shows its system composition.

VII Testing

Instructions: After installation and commission, register the devices through the fire

alarm control panel then check whether all the interfaces registered and write

unregistered interface down to find faults. As for the registered interfaces, make

simulation and manual fire test. When short condition occurs to the heat cable, the

address number of related interface will transmit such a status to the fire alarm control

panel which generates fire alarms.

1.  Before testing, notify the proper authorities that the system is going to be

maintenance and out of service temporarily. Disable the zone or system

undergoing maintenance to avoid unwanted alarms.

2.  Manual Fire Test: Remove the commission tool, put its

Commission Zone

close to

Fire Test position on the upper part of the terminal.  Check whether the red LED is lit.

Remove the commission tool to clear fire condition, the system goes back in normal

monitoring state. Fig. 15 shows the fire test.

Test

Fig. 15 Fire Test

3.  Simulation Fire Test: Put a part of curved cable into boiling water over 0.3m from

the terminal. The cable length in the water is 1m, and fire alarm should be given in
