Multi-Satellite Reception
Tone Burst (Mini-DiSEqC)
With the LNC arrangement 3 option a so-called
Tone Burst signal (also called Mini-DiSEqC signal)
is emitted. This signal comprises the satellite selec-
tion (A/B). A Tone Burst (mini-DiSEqC) switch can
therefore also be used to switch between the assig-
ned LNC’s.
If the upper frequency range is selected, the static
22 kHz signal is emitted in addition to the Tone
Burst (mini-DiSEqC) signal.
It is therefore possible to receive the lower (set-
ting –) and upper (setting
~
) frequency range of
two satellites by installing two universal LNC’s.
Instead of two universal LNC’s you can also con-
nect two 22 kHz relays to the outputs of the Tone
Burst (mini-DiSEqC) switch. Then you can connect
up to four single-range LNC’s to receive the signals
from four different satellites (see also ”LNC arran-
gement 3” on page 15).
With the LNC arrangement 4 to 6 options the Tone
Burst (mini-DiSEqC) signal is emitted after the
DiSEqC 1.0 signal. However, the shortest Tone Burst
(mini-DiSEqC) switching time is obtained with LNC
arrangement 3.

LNC control system with DiSEqC 1.0
❒
What does DiSEqC mean?
State-of-the-art LNC control using the so-called
DiSEqC protocol (Digital Satellite Equipment Con-
trol, pronounced »die-seck«) is used for the set-
tings of LNC arrangements 4 to 6. The antenna
system used must be designed for the application
in question and for DiSEqC.
With the DiSEqC control system, 22 kHz signals are
emitted which are pulsed in a certain manner and
which contain all the information for the LNC con-
trol system.
The DiSEqC signal (DiSEqC 1.0) is emitted first,
then the ToneBurst (mini-DiSEqC) signal and the
static 22 kHz signal. This allows a great number of
application possibilities.
For every application possibility which you would
like to use, you must enter the appropriate oscilla-
tor frequency of the LNC in the “LNC settings”
menu.

Multi-Satellite Reception/T
echnical Data
The DiSEqC protocol comprises the following pos-
sibilities:
– Polarization H or V.
– Selection between lower and upper frequency
range (– or
~
).
The symbol “–“ means the reception of the lower
frequency range of a satellite. The symbol “
~
“
means the reception of the upper frequency
range.
– Selection between up to 4 satellites (A/B/C/D).
You can therefore receive the lower and upper
frequency range of up to 4 satellites (– or
~
swit-
ches between the frequency ranges, A/B/C/D bet-
ween the satellites).
The oscillator frequencies of the LNC’s can be en-
tered in the „LNC settings“ menu (see page 14).
These switching options are independent of each
other for each of the two tuners A and B connec-
tions.
If the aerial system is accordingly equipped, it is
therefore possible to receive with each tuner
connection the lower and upper frequency range of
up to 4 satellites.
To receive with DiSEqC on one tuner connection the
signals of two satellites, select the LNC arrange-
ment 4 in the “LNC SETUP“ menu (5 or 6, if neces-
sary).
Enter the oscillator frequencies of the LNC’s.
For the programme positions of the corresponding
satellite, you must select that LNC which delivers
the signals which are handled by the multiswitch.
