Automated Roll-Up Sides
Attach Guide Pipe to Existing Threaded Rod
ATTACH GUIDE PIPE
ATTENTION:
Asthetics, available power supply, and other factors may help
determine where best to position the new motor.
If you want to move the motor
position to the opposite end of the building, remove the threaded rod and
reinstall at the desired end.
It is best to position both motors at the same end of
the greenhouse or high tunnel.
Complete these steps:
1. At the building end where the motor will be located, take one 12' guide
pipe, place it in position, and align it with the threaded rod. See diagram
below and for clearances and position.
2. With the lower end of the pipe an inch above ground and aligned with the
end rafter, have an assistant mark the mounting hole for the threaded rod
near the top of the pipe.
Install swaged (or tapered) end at the top.
Gather parts:
• 12' Guide Pipe (131S147)
3. Use a drill and 7/16" bit to drill the mounting hole at the spot marked in
the previous step.
4. Add the nut and washer and insert the 3/8" threaded rod through the
mounting hole. Attach pipe using the remaining 3/8" nut and washer.
Do
not tighten at this time.
ATTENTION:
If the nut and washer are in place on the threaded rod,
continue with the next step.
5. Verify that the lower end of the guide pipe is slightly off the ground an
aligned with the end rafter.
ATTENTION:
Lower end of pipe will "float" slightly above ground when
installed at correct height. Lower end is not anchored.
Do not allow pipe
end to contact ground.
6. Continue with next procedure.
Adjust guide pipe
position to set motor
clearance at bottom.
When adjusted
properly, the guide
pipe will run parallel
with the end rafter.
Threaded rod and hardware
included with the original roll-up
panel components.
These are
not included with this kit.
1.315" Guide
Pipe
Attach guide pipe to threaded rod.
Do not cut pipe to length at this
time. Install swaged/tapered end
at the top.
Step 2
Mark mounting
hole location.
