To adjust cutterhead height:
1. Check/adjust cutterhead alignment (refer
to
Aligning Cutterhead to Outfeed Table
beginning
on Page 3).
2. Place straightedge at either A or B position
and use pulley and V-belt to
rotate cutterhead
under straightedge until insert is at top dead
center.
—If insert brushes straightedge and moves
it slightly (
1
/
8
") forward and back when you
turn cutterhead, no height adjustment is
required. Proceed to
Step 7.
—If insert fell below straightedge and did not
move it, proceed to
Step 3.
—If insert moved straightedge more than
1
/
8
",
proceed to
Step 3.
3. Turn entire jointer over so you can access
underside of machine and loosen (4) cap
screws shown in
Figure 6.
Adjusting Cutterhead Height
After the cutterhead inserts have been aligned to
the outfeed table, the cutterhead height must be
adjusted so inserts extend the correct height into
the workpiece during operations.
—If insert fell below straightedge and did not
move it, tighten each set screw

turn.
—If insert moved straightedge more than
1
/
8
",
loosen each set screw
1
/
2
turn.
5. Tighten cap screws from Step 3 and turn
jointer right-side up.
6. Repeat Steps 2–4 until insert brushes
straightedge and moves it slightly (
1
/
8
") for-
ward and back when you turn cutterhead,
then tighten cap screws from
Step 3.
7. Turn entire jointer over so you can access
underside of machine and install chip chute,
(3) flat washers, and (3) Phillips heads screws
removed in
Step 7 of Aligning Cutterhead
to Outfeed Table beginning on Page 3.
8. Install base cover, (4) flat washers, and (4)
Phillips heads screws removed in
Step 6
of
Aligning Cutterhead to Outfeed Table
beginning
on Page 3.
9. Turn jointer right-side up and install belt
pulley cover and tap screws from
Step 2
of
Aligning Cutterhead to Outfeed Table
beginning
on Page 3.
