(2) Detach ribbon cable connector P4008 (W3) from mating connector J3008 on the tube
module (46).
(3) Remove eight screws at rear of indicator, near top.
NOTE:
During reassembly, locking compound must be applied to these screws.
(See Table 5-2.)
(4) Remove two screws (32) at left side and a single screw (32) at right side. Partially
remove high-voltage power supply assembly (31).
(5) Disconnect ribbon cable connector P4012 (W4) from mating connector J5012 on
LVPS module (65) and remove high-voltage power supply assembly.
(6) To disassemble high-voltage regulator module (38) from potted assembly, detach
P4502 (W9) from mating connector J4002 on PCB and remove the seven screws (39)
and attaching washers (40 and 41) securing the PDB to the high-voltage block
assembly.
NOTE:
The high-voltage block assembly is a potted assembly and should not be
disassembled. If it is defective, it should be replaced. (See Figure 7-4).
F. Tube Module Removal
(1) Remove four screws (58) and washers (59) securing CRT protective collar (57) to
main frame chassis (55). Remove protective cover.
(2) Detach ribbon cable connectors P107 (W2) and P4008 (W3) from mating connectors
J3007 and J3008, respectively. Detach ground connector P109 (W13) from mating
connector J3009 on tube module.
(3) Using a gentle rocking motion, detach tube module (46) from pins of cathode-ray tube
(73).
NOTE:
For further disassembly of the tube module, refer to Figure 7-3.
G. Front Panel, Degaussing Coil and CRT Removal
NOTE:
The degaussing coil and CRT are removed along with the front panel assembly.
(1) Remove tube module (46) as outlined in previous paragraph 5.F.
(2) Disconnect high-voltage lead from CRT. Also, detach connectors P104 and P105
(W12) from mating connectors J1004 and J1005, respectively, on the video/RS-170
module (94).
CAUTION:
DURING REASSEMBLY, APPLY DOW CORNING #4 COMPOUND
AROUND HIGH-VOLTAGE CONNECTOR SHELL TO PREVENT
POSSIBLE ARCING. REFER TO PARAGRAPH 4.L.
