Trimmer Tips
Before each use
• Make sure the protective guard is tightly installed. T ighten the guard scre w .
• Make sure the b attery is f ully charged and that the charger is disconnected b e f ore using or
storing the trimmer.
• D o not store the grass trimmer / edger in sunlight , in an e x cessively w arm place , or near a
furnace. The battery life will be shortened.
• If the battery must be stored in a warm place, charge it frequently.
• Before trimming, inspect the area for string, wire, branches or other material that may become
entangled in the cutting line and thrown.
During use
• T rim only when the grass and weeds are dry.
• Do not trim grass at night. Always make sure you have adequate lighting.
• H old the grass trimmer / edger b y b oth the s w itch handle and the auxiliary handle for b est control
and balance.
• Stand with the cutting head tipped down at an angle in front, guiding the grass trimmer/edger in
a semicircular motion around you.
• If possible, guide the grass trimmer/edger to the left to cut.The line will cut as soon as it leaves
the guard, and the clippings are thrown away from you.
• T o produce a smoothly trimmed area, move the grass trimmer/edgermout of the area being cut
with consistent speed and height.
• U se only the tip o f the cutting line to do the trimming , especially near w alls and f ences.
T rimming with the side of the cutting line may overload the motor , wear out the line faster , and
break the line more often.
• D o not rest the trimmer spool on the ground w hile trimming. T his w ill cause spool w ear and
battery drain.
• If the grass is higher than 6” (15 cm), trim in small stages.
• W hen the grass trimmer / edger is turned o ff and the spool stops rotating , the cutting line w ill
rela x and may recede. Feed extra cutting line b efore storing the trimmer to prevent losing the line
completely into the spool.
• If the diameter of the cutting area gets smaller, the line is w orn do w n and needs to b e advanced
more often.
• If the grass trimmer/edger is not cutting correctly , the cutting line may not be feeding properly.
Remove and rewind the line spool.
