?

The water entering the filter sounds like it is falling freely. This fact indicates that an air chamber has been created

between the water inlet and the silica sand.

?

An excess of air bubbles is released through the feedback nozzle.

?

The bottom cleaner (not supplied) does not suction, and the silica sand remains clean after the cleansing.

?

Check that the pressure gauge is in the 0 bar position.

5.1.2 How to prime the filter

?

Check that the suction hose is connected to the skimmer and the passage is open (the plug has not been inserted).

?

Disconnect the filter from the power outlet.

?

With the valve in the filtering position (filter), slightly loosen the drain nut that is beside the pressure gauge, to enable

the air accumulated inside the filter to escape.  If a pressure gauge has not been placed, put the valve in the WASTE
position.

?

When it observed that only water is released (between 1 and 2 minutes) close the drain valve again.

?

Connect the filter to the power outlet and check that falling water can no longer be heard. If it can still be heard, repeat

the operation.

5.2 Filtration

NEVER HANDLE THE VALVE

WHILE THE MOTOR IS RUNNING

Before the first filtration operation, perform a backwash of the sand. (Section 5.3)

The valve must be on the filtration setting. The service life of the filter will be longer if the periods of continuous operation
do not exceed 4 hours. The need for daily filtration is determined by the volume of water in the pool in

m3

 in comparison to

the m

3

/h filter flow rate for a water temperature of around 21ºC and placed at 3.5 m. from the pool. Leave the motor at off

for at least 2 h. between each 4 h period of operation.

cycle of 2 hours rest

In the initial filtration treatment it is important to leave the filter off for the time indicated.  It is recommended to increase
the filtration time the higher the water temperature of the pool.

5.3 Filter wasehd sand

The backwash process cleans the silica sand from inside the filter. This process should be done regularly. For this
purpose you should observe several factors which indicate the dirtiness of the sand:

?

Decrease in the flow rate of feedback is detected, after checking that the pump is well primed.

?

Pressure gauge indicates that there is excess pressure (needle pointing between yellow and red, or on red).

5.3.1 To perform filter backwash, proceed as follows:

?

Disconnect the filter from the power outlet. Never move the selector valve when the motor is running.

?

Press firmly on the upper valve control until the front rib is released from the housing and can turn on its own axis.

?

Turn the control gently until the front rib is aligned with the housing of the backwash operation.

?

Connect the ø38 mm x 1.5 m hose using the 1 ½” sleeve to the valve waste outlet and point the other end of the hose

to a drain or sewer in models AR140, AR140E, and AR140L  In models AR135, AR135E, AR135L connect the ø38 mm
x 1.5 m hose directly to the valve waste outlet and point the other end of the hose to a drain or sewer.

?

Start up the filter and operate for approximately 2 min., until impurities are no longer released to the water. This can

be observed through the transparent viewing window on the side.

?

 Stop the filter.

?

Place the valve in the rinsing position and connect the filter for a few seconds.

?

Stop the filter, go to the required filter position and remove the hose from the waste position if required.

5.4 Draining the swimming pool

The filter allows you to drain the pool almost completely after the bathing season has ended. To do so, place the upper
selector valve on the waste setting. Before plugging in the filter, connect the

ø38 mm x 1.5 m

hose to the valve waste outlet

and point the other end of the hose towards a drain or sewer. Then, depending on the skimmer model, proceed as
follows:

5.4.1 AR-135, AR-135L , AR-140 , AR-140L  model

(with wall skimmer for Dream Pools and Jet Pool swimming pools):

?

Remove the inner basket from the skimmer and cover the suction inlet with the plug supplied for this purpose.
