"Tickle" adjustment
Do not use the controls or settings and do not carry out procedures other than those
specified in the use manual, to avoid risking exposure to dangerous radiation.
"Tickle" is the term used for small pulses, which are fed to the laser to keep the plasma inside energized. This allows the
laser to respond quickly and strongly for high speed cutting and engraving.
"Tickle" keeps the laser «warmed up» at times when the laser system is powered on but not firing and the top door is closed.
We suggest keeping the door closed at all times when the laser system is powered on as this keeps the laser warmed up.
If the door is open, the power to the laser tube itself is turned off and the tube will cool down. The laser runs best after
being warmed up for 15 to 20 minutes.
"Tickle" is pre-set at the factory and usually does not require adjustment. However, it is possible that it may need
adjustment after the laser system ages several years. A simple procedure can be effected by the user in order to make out
a correct diagnosis and in order to use the following corrective procedure, if necessary:
1.
Switch on the machine (main stop button (L) in I position)
When switched on the ventilator of the machine will start. The following message will be displayed on the L.C.D. screen
of the machine:
SET UP
FPGA X.XX
LCD SOFT X.XX
16 Mo BOOT X.X
<< GRAVOGRAPH >>
LASER VERSION X.XX
LCD SOFT X.XX
16 Mo BOOT X.X
Wait a few seconds.
The following message is displayed on the screen:
<READY TO RECEIVE>
001 FILENAME1
PUI 40 VIT 10
DPIX 400 DPIY 400
2.
Start the engraving of the "Tickle" engraving test file.
-
Adjust the power of your laser based on the material used for engraving the test file.
We advise you to use an engraving material sensitive to the LASER radiation as Gravoglas.
-
Select "Send Tickle File" (from the "About of" tab) to transfer the test file to the
machine:
