screws.
87. Install the motor; note the orientation as shown in the right-hand illustration.
88. Fit the retaining screws (103) in the motor mount.
89. Push the rubber grommets (104) onto the retaining screws, and attach the motor
assembly to the motor bulkhead (69).
90. Glue the magnets (64) in the slots in the spinner locating plates (105) using thin cyano,
keeping them flush with the surface of the plates.
Check the orientation (attraction /
repulsion) of the magnets. Ensure that you make one right and one left part, and
check that the spinner can be mounted either way round.
91. Glue the magnets in the spinner backplate (106), keeping them flush with the surface,
and place the spinner locating plates on top.
92. Assemble the spinner formers (107, 108, 109) as shown in the photo. Insert the bottom
end of the formers in the retaining plates and the backplate, and tack the parts together
using thin cyano.
Take care to avoid glue running between the plates.
Allow the glue
to set hard, then separate the spinner backplate (106) from the internal spinner
framework, and apply thick cyano to all the joints to reinforce them.
93. Place the internal spinner framework in the spinner cap (110) and tack the parts together
using foam cyano. Allow the glue to set hard, then cut off the projecting spinner
material, leaving a slight excess; sand it back flush with the spinner backplate. Remove
the spinner backplate and apply more glue to the spinner framework to reinforce the
joints.
94. Attach the propeller hub (111) to the motor, then slide the spinner backplate and the
propeller spacer (112) on the motor shaft. Attach the propeller blades to the propeller
hub (113).
Secure the blade holder screws with a drop of thread-lock fluid.
Align
the propeller assembly on the spinner backplate as shown in the pictures, and fix the
parts together.
95. Extend the battery / speed controller leads by about 80 mm, and connect the speed
controller to the motor (yellow to yellow, red to black, and blue to red). Mount the
controller inside the fuselage using Velcro tape or UHU-por. Connect the speed
controller and servos to the receiver, and install the receiver in the fuselage, again using
Velcro tape or UHU-por. Deploy the receiver aerial inside the fuselage.
96. Stick one side of the Velcro tape (114) inside the fuselage, and the other side to the flight
battery.
97. Fold the propeller blades forward, and fit the cowl onto the fuselage. Now cut away the
spinner cap to clear the propeller blades, and attach the spinner to the backplate.
98. Lay the canopy frame (115) on the building board, underside facing down.
The
underside is the engraved side.
Use foam cyano to glue the magnets to it, flush with
the underside.
99. Glue the instrument panel support (116) to the instrument panel (117) using foam cyano,
then glue the instrument panel in the slots in the canopy frame, again using foam cyano.
