12 Fault Finding

12.1 General
If a fault occurs with the boiler, the
display screen on the burner control
panel helps to identify the nature and
cause of that fault.
There are
THREE
basic screen displays
that can be seen in the event of a fault,
as follows:
•
Normal screen display (with
‘
WAIT BOILER THERMOSTAT
’
continuously scrolling across the
lower part of the screen). Refer to
Figure 12-1.
If this is the case go to
Section
12.2
for fault finding procedure.
•
No display – screen is BLANK.
Refer to Figure 12-2.
If this is the case go to
Section
12.3
for fault finding procedure.
•
An ERROR message is displayed.
If this is the case refer to ‘
Error
Messages
’ below.
It is essential, at this stage, to check
and identify which of these three
displays is shown on the burner control
panel screen, before proceeding to
attempt to diagnose the fault.
Error Messages
There are
FOUR
possible error
messages that can be displayed on
the burner control panel screen in the
event of a fault. In all cases the cursor
will be next to the error symbol (at the
lower left corner of the display). Refer to
Figure 12-3.
The four possible error messages that
can be displayed (continuously scrolling
across the lower part of the screen)
are listed below. Each one identifies
a particular fault. Refer to the relevant
section of this manual for detailed
guidance to diagnose and rectify the
fault, as follows:
