CLEANING AND

MAINTENANCE

 CLEAN THE KETTLE
•  Unplug the kettle base.
•  Let the kettle cool down and clean it with a damp sponge.
•  Never immerse the kettle, its base, the cord or the electric plug in water. The
electrical connections or the switch should never come into contact with water.
•  Do not use scouring pads.

CLEAN THE FILTER
The removable filter consists of a mesh to retain the particles of scale and
prevent them falling into your cup when pouring. This filter neither treats nor
removes the hardness of the water so it conserves all the qualities of the water.
With very hard water, the filter can clog very quickly, after 10 to 15 uses so it is
important to clean the filter regularly.
•  If the filter is wet, put it under running water.
•  If the filter is dry, brush it gently.
To remove the anti-scale filter, lift the kettle off its base and allow it to cool. Never
remove the filter when the appliance is full of hot water.

DESCALING
To keep the kettle working well, you should descale regularly, preferably at least
once a month or more frequently if your water is very hard.
There are three different ways you can descale your kettle:
Using white vinegar:
1. Fill the kettle with 2 cups of vinegar.
2. Let the vinegar soak in the kettle for 1 hour. Do not turn on the kettle during
this time.
3. Pour out the liquid and rinse 5 or 6 times.
Using citric acid:
1. Boil 2 cups of water in the kettle.
2. Add 5 teaspoons of citric acid and let it soak for 15 minutes.
3. Pour out the liquid and rinse 5 or 6 times.
Using a descaler:
1. Use a descaler specifically for plastic kettles and follow the manufacturer’s
instructions.
2. Empty your kettle and rinse 5 or 6 times. Repeat if necessary.
