Emptying the Water Tank
PLEASE NOTE!
■
For health reasons, do not leave water standing in the water tank for several days.
■
CAUTION – Danger of scalding!
The water in the water tank becomes hot during
operation. Do not reach into the water tank and wait until the water has cooled down
before emptying the water tank.
1. Remove the mains plug from the plug socket.
2. Remove the glass jug (

) and / or cup from the device if necessary.
3. Open the water tank cover (

).
4. Slide the water outlet (
14
) backwards.
5. If necessary, empty the permanent
fi
lter or dispose of a paper
fi
lter that has been
used.
6. Remove the
fi
lter insert (
15
) and slide the water outlet forwards again.
7. Hold the device securely with both hands and tip it out over a sink. When you do this,
make sure that the mains cable does not get wet.
Inserting the Filter
1. Open the water tank cover (

).
2. Slide the water outlet (
14
) backwards.
3. If you have not already done so, insert the
fi
lter insert (
15
) into the
fi
lter compart-
ment (
12
). When you do this, make sure that the handle
fi
ts in the recess which is
provided for it in the
fi
lter compartment.
4. Place the permanent
fi
lter (
13
) or a suitable paper
fi
lter (size 1 x 4) into the
fi
lter insert.
5. Slide the water outlet forwards again.
6. Close the water tank lid. It must click audibly into place.
Drip Stop
The device has a drip stop which prevents water from dripping out of the
fi
lter when the
glass jug (
9
) has been removed from the device.
When the device is in operation, the glass jug with the lid placed on must be positioned
beneath the coffee outlet (
10
). The lid of the glass jug pushes the drip stop upwards and
the coffee can
fl
ow from the
fi
lter through the lid into the glass jug.
During the brewing process, the glass jug must not be removed from the device for
longer than 30 seconds as otherwise the
fi
lter could over
fl
ow.
Keep-Warm Function
The device has a keep-warm function that switches on automatically if the device is not
switched off after the brewing process.
The keep-warm function switches off automatically after around 35 minutes. If the keep-
warm function is to be ended before this, turn the dial (

) to the
AUS (off)
position.
