Software – Chapter 6

6.4 Firmware Update

The CPU inside the antenna can be updated via the serial interface. In order to do
this connect the serial interface of a PC to the antenna. Then use the Software tool
FLASH269 to program the antenna CPU as described below.

6.4.1 Installation of the Flash Program

No real installation is necessary, rather copy the files onto your PC with the following
steps:

1.

Create a folder for the program.

2.

Copy the program file

FLASH269.EXE

into this folder.

3.

Copy the file

FLASH269.DLL

into the Windows system folder. The name of

this folder varies according to the version of Windows in use.

6.4.2 Using the Flash Program

Start the flash program by double clicking on

FLASH269.EXE

in the folder you

created above. The following program window is shown:

Use Select Hex File to select the firmware file from the disk. The set the relevant
COM port. Switch to the Terminal program and in monitor mode press



to enter

to prepare the antenna for the update process. Af

terwards cut the connection to the antenna in the Terminal program and switch back
to the Flash program. Here click on

Program Target Device

and confirm the

dialog that opens. As soon as the programming is finished successfully reset the an

tenna by turning the power off and then on again. As soon as you re-connect the ter

-

minal program the new version number of the firmware should be shown in the
main screen.
