Use caution
not to damage seal parts when
installing the rotor adjusting sleeve.
Loosen the socket head setscrews (GA). Slide the
rotor adjusting sleeve kit over the shaft. Use cau
tion not to damage installed seal components on
the shaft. Screw the rotor adjusting sleeve into the
backhead until the rotor bottoms against the head.
It is recommended that a new bearing lock
washer (03B) be installed any time the ro
tor adjusting sleeve is disassembled. Re‐
use of an old lockwasher may create a pre‐
load condition on the bearing, resulting in
premature bearing failure.
Install the bearing lockwasher (03B) and screw the
bearing locknut (03C) onto the shaft until tight.
Align one of the slots in the locknut with one of the
tabs on the lockwasher, and bend the tab on the
lockwasher into the slot on the locknut.

SETTING END CLEARANCE
The end clearance between the head (01AA) and
the face of the rotor (03A) is pre‐set from the factory
based on the liquid temperature, viscosity and oth
er characteristics provided at the time of the order.
This clearance is critical to achieve the optimum
performance and maximum service life from your
pump. The end clearance should be checked and
adjusted, as required, as part of a regular preven
tive maintenance schedule, whenever perform
ance drops or when the pump is disassembled.
The proper end clearance for your pump can be
determined by two methods. Table E‐1 shows cor
rect end clearance based on hydraulic size, viscos
ity and temperature. Table E‐2 shows correct end
clearance based on the rotor trim code indicated
on the pump Parts List. Determine the end clear
ance for your pump from either of these tables.
