TUNER
AND
CHANNEL
LIST
35
• SAP — Second Audio Program. Optional
audio signal, often used to transmit a
second language, news, or weather
broadcasts. SAP will appear on the front
panel display if it is available.
• TV+SAP — Broadcasts Mono sound out
of the left channel and SAP out of the
right channel. This is useful if you want
to listen to a second language with
headphones while the primary language
is played through the speakers.
• Simulcast — Sometimes a broadcaster
will transmit a television program and an
FM radio broadcast of the same program
simultaneously. When Tuner Audio is set
to Simulcast, the audio signal will come
from the rear line outputs, usually
connected to a stereo system. Simulcasts
are usually reserved for live musical
performances; however, they are becom-
ing less frequent because most televisions
have built-in stereo sound.
