Know your product

Before using the bench grinder, familiarise yourself with
all the operating features and safety requirements.
The GMC Bench Grinders are designed for light to
moderate duty applications in a home environment. They
are not intended for use by trade persons. They are ideal
for sharpening tools such as drill bits and chisels. The
larger tools can be applied to heavier grinding
applications on steel sections. These grinders are not a
continuously rated tool and should not be operated for
more than 10 minutes continuously at a time under load.
If the tool is used for this period of time under load the
grinder should then be turned off for a minimum of
30 minutes.
All the bench grinders can be fitted with a wire wheel
provided that the wheel is rated for use at 3000RPM
or higher.

Guard exhaust

All grinders are fitted with a rear guard
exhaust. This exhaust is provided to assist
in the prevention of grinding dust build up
within the guard assembly. Grinding sparks
and dust will project from these exhausts
from the rear. Ensure the following:

Combustable items are not
directly behind the grinder.

During use ensure other
persons are not directly
behind the grinder.

Never attempt to connect
any form of dust extraction
machine to the grinder.
