26. REMOVE THE ROPE KIT AND DISCARD
Bundle the rope off the drum, sliding the anchor from the main shaft
and discard, ready to fit the new kit.
27. INSPECT BUSHES AND GEARS
Brass bushes in the spring cover drum and rope drum must be
inspected for excessive wear or damage.
To replace: knock out damaged bushes, press in new and ream to
18.1 mm
Inspect the condition of the gear ring and pinion gear (G.Saver II
models only) The gears will only need to be removed if they need
replacing due to damaged or bent teeth.
28. CLEAN ALL COMPONENTS
With the unit fully broken down all components can be cleaned ready
for rebuild. A wire brush should be used to remove dirt and
contamination.
Water based degreasing agents can be used to help with cleaning.
