BASE STATION TYPE GSOC26
GENERAL INFORMATION
COMPATABILITY
This base station is totally compatible with our previous range of units. It is possible to use our original GSOC4
commentator’s boxes with this new GSOC26.
GENERAL
This base station is designed to operate with a single commentators box although provision is made to interconnect
a number of GSOC26s. Each commentators box has provision for three commentators. The GSOC26 can be used
either as a self contained unit that can produced a final mixed output, or as a unit interfaced with a standard control
desk. For this mode individual pre-fade outputs of the three commentators are provided.
The GSOC26 is mains operated and can operate on 110 to 240 v AC mains without tap changing.
Because the GSOC26 will normally be fitted in a vehicle or a nineteen inch equipment bay, all of the input and
output connectors are on the rear panel. There is not enough room for XLR type connectors so we have used D
connectors. The pin out of these connectors is shown in WP40-131
CONSTRUCTION
It is constructed in a 1U subrack. The panels are shown in drawing number A2-13726. Internally there are three
main PCBs as well as a number of daughter boards. Our drawing number A3-13725 is an attempt to show what
particular circuits are associated with each of these PCBs
Each daughter board provides a simple function and there are several instances where a number of identical
daughter boards are used. These daughter boards are soldered directly into the main boards. For maintenance
Glensound recommends replacing any faulty daughter board.

This handbook gives individual circuit diagrams of each daughter board as well as other circuits that are constructed
directly on the three main PCBs.
