What to do in the case of faults
WARNING
Danger from falls and accidents resulting from unexpected after-running
If your engine management system is faulty, your EPAC may continue running.
· Be ready to brake at all times.
· Drive defensively, comply with all of the servicing intervals and contact your specialist workshop
immediately in the case of faults.
· You should only use this EPAC if you can safely ride at high speeds and brake from such speeds.
WARNING
Danger from heavy falls and accidents
Incorrectly performed troubleshooting may result in dangerous riding situations, falls and accidents.
· You should only carry out work to your EPAC which you are permitted to perform according to the
following table.
Contact a specialist workshop for bicycles if the work that you have carried out is not successful.
· Have all other work carried out by a specialist workshop for bicycles.
· You should contact your specialist bicycle dealer immediately if the riding behaviour of your
EPAC does not appear to be normal, if you can hear unusual noises or if you notice any
malfunctions which are not listed in the following table.
WARNING
Danger of injury from shearing and trapping in the back wheel
When the EPAC is in the standby position, the electric drive may start up unintentionally. The
rotating rear wheel may then cause serious injuries. If you put down the EPAC, this may result in
uncontrolled movements as a result of which you might also be injured.
Make sure that the EPAC is not in the standby position before starting any work on the EPAC, see
section 10.3, Switching off the electric drive
.
