Troubleshooting
8.1 Spindle taper can not be mounted in the pipe
Possible cause
Solution
The pipe was not trimmed at the
inner diameter.
Check the pipe and, if necessarym deburr the
inner diameter with deburring tool.
The spindle taper is already
under tension.
Check spindle taper and rotate into relaxed
position.
The spindle taper was wedged
into the pipe during installation.
Check spindle taper and rotate in the relaxed
position and re-assemble in the pipe (making
sure that the spindle taper is not wedged).
The wrong dimension fot the
clamping shoe has been selected.
Check the clamping shoe dimension. Select and
assemble the right clamping shoe dimension.
The clamping shoe were
mounted incorrectly.
Check that pipe stops of the clamping shoe are
on the right side and, if necessary, correct.
The number of clamping shoe aer
not completely assembled or
available.
Mount missing clamping shoe or order missing
shoe and retrofit (if not present).
Clamping shoe can not be assem-
bled (missing magnetic fixture).
Contact local GF service center and send the
tool to the GF service center.
The pipe is damaged and the
ovality on it is too high.
The pipe must be checked. If the pipe is
damaged at the pipe ends, remove the damaged
part. If the entire pipe is damaged (for example,
crimped), use a new undamaged pipe.
8.2 Spindle taper can not be fixed in the pipe / is not taut
Possible cause
Solution
The spindle taper is dirty and can
not rotate the handle.
Clean the spindle taper on the outside with a
broom or brush. If the spindle taper continues
to not turn the handle, contact the GF service
center and send tool to theyour local GF service
center.
The spindle taper is dirty at the
clamping shoe and wedges.
Clean the spindle taper on outside with the
broom or brush. If the spindle taper continues
to not turn the handle, contact the GF service
center and send tool to the GF service center.
It is a mechanical defect (no
power transmission or clamping
the shoe is not possible).
Contact GF service center and send tool to the
GF service center.
