Safety Notes
IMPORTANT! ESSENTIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS!
For the safety of personnel it is important to follow these instructions.
Keep these instructions in a safe place.
Fitting, commissioning and servicing of the drive may only be carried out by qualified
personnel with authorisation by GEZE.
GEZE will not accept liability for any injury or damage resulting from unauthorised modifi-
cations of the system.
GEZE does not uphold any warranty if the product is used in combination with products by
third parties.
Likewise, for repair and maintenance work only original GEZE parts may be used.
The mains connection (230 V AC or 24 V DC) is to be carried out by a qualified electrician in
accordance with the respective wiring diagram. The mains connection and earth conduc-
tor test should be carried out in accordance with DIN VDE 0100.
The isolation device on the mains side should be an automatic fuse with a rating to suit the
permitted current loading on the cable; the fuse to be supplied by others.
In accordance with the 98/37/EC Machine Directive, a risk analysis is to be carried out
before commissioning the window system; the window system should then be marked in
accordance with Directive 93/68/EEC for CE marking.
With respect to guidelines, standards and state/country-specific regulations, the up-to-
date version need to be observed, in particular:
- BGR 232 ‘Guidelines for power-operated windows, doors and gates’
- VDE 0100, part 610 ‘Installation of power systems with voltages up to 1000 V’.
- VDE 0700, part 238 ‘Safety of electrical equipment for domestic applications and similar
uses, drives for windows, doors, gates and similar systems’.
- Regulations for the prevention of accidents, in particular VB61 ‘General regulations’ and
VB64 ‘Electrical installations and devices’
