Installing and connecting the equipment
DANGER
DANGER
There is a risk of electric shock during work on electrical systems.
■
Always switch off the voltage to the equipment before performing any work.
■
Check that the equipment is not carrying live voltage before commencing work.
■
Switch off the voltage to the system and secure so that it cannot be turned on by an unauthorised
person.
■
Unscrew the connector from the solenoid valve.
■
Install the cycling timer as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
■
Wire the connector as per the manufacturer's instructions.
■
Drain the pipes.
■
Make sure that the system pipework is clean.
The solenoid valve, strainer and reducer are pre-assembled with Teflon tape and are hand-tight. You can
install the solenoid valve in any position, but preferably with the connector facing up.
■
Install the solenoid valve as close to the intermittent blowdown valve as possible, where the ambient
temperature does not exceed 55 °C.
■
Make sure the direction arrow on the body is pointing in the desired direction of flow.
■
Lay a stainless steel pipe for the control medium. Pipe diameter:

pipe 10 x 1. If you are using water as the control medi-
um, you must connect a drain line.
■
Firmly screw the connections of the reducer and strainer (maximum ¼" 7 Nm, ½" 27 Nm) so they are
pressure-tight.
■
Make sure the equipment is securely installed and all connections are correct and secure.
■
Connect the connector to the cycling timer.
Setting the control programme
■
Set the desired times according to the cycling timer Instructions.
Operation
Normal operation
Pay attention to the supplied manufacturer’s instructions. The solenoid valve and the programme-control-
led blowdown system must have the same voltage.
Manual operation
The solenoid valve can also be operated manually for checking purposes or in the event of power failure.
You can test the blowdown system using the push-button on the solenoid valve.
Pulse
■
Press the push-button on the solenoid valve and then release.
Continuous operation
ATTENTION
Care must be taken with continuous operation, because the water level in the boiler may fall considerably,
causing the water level limiter to switch off the heating.
■
Press and then turn the push-button on the solenoid valve (continuous operation).
