After installing the I/O device, you need to enable the I/O settings on the camera. For installing

4.2.4.1 Input Settings
To activate the sensor input, select
Enable
.

Name:
Name the input in the Name field.
Normal State:
Set the input state to trigger actions by selecting
Open Circuit (N/O)
or
Grounded Circuit (N/C)

E-Mail Output:
Enable this option to send alerts to a specified e-mail address when the
input is triggered.
I/O Output:
Enable this option to trigger the output once the input is activated.
