OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Contact grill
• Insert the grill plates (12) (see also chapter
Replacing the hotplates
).
• Although the heating plates have an anti-adhesive coating, you can also use oil, grease, butter, lard or
margarine. Please note, that margarine “light“ and various plant oils ( cold-pressed olive oil, thistle-, linseed-,
wheat germ-, corn-, sesame-, walnut-, hazelnut oil) are unsuitable for frying. Use these oils only for cold
food.
• Connect the device to the mains supply. The red operating light (9) lights up and signalizes that the device
is connected to the mains supply and heats up. As soon as the device reaches the temperature, the
green control light (10) lights up as well. During the baking process the control light (10) turns on and off
alternately. This indicates that the temperature is kept constant.
• Open the device and place the grill-food on the lower grill plate. Only use precooked meat. The device is not
suitable for grilling raw meat.
• Now close the lid.
• Check the grill-food after about two minutes. Grill your food, until it has reached the desired degree of
browning.
•
Note:
If your grill-food starts smoking, use a different oil or fat.
Baking waffles
• Insert the waffle plates (11) (see chapter
Replacing hotplates
).
• Grease the waffle plate slightly with butter, margarine or edible oil.
• Connect the device to the mains supply. The red operation light (9) lights up and signalizes that the device
is connected to the mains supply and heats up. As soon as the temperature is reached, the green control
light (10) lights up as well. During the baking process the control light (10) turns on and off alternately. This
indicates that the temperature is kept constant.
• Open the device and then spread the batter evenly across the bottom-baking surface. To determine the
correct amount of dough, fill in the dough until it just touches the edges of the waffle plates. If necessary,
increase the amount of dough for the next waffle. Make certain that the batter does not run over the edge of
the baking surface. Now close the lid.
• At the earliest after 2 minutes you can open the lid to check the baking result. Opening the lid early will only
tear the waffle.
• Continue baking the waffle until it has reached the desired degree of browning. The degree of browning
is adjustable through the baking time. In this way, the waffles can be baked to a golden yellow or a crispy
brown.
• When removing the waffles, be sure not to accidentally damage the coating of the baking surfaces. Always
remove the finished waffle with help of a flat wooden- or plastic spatula. Never use metal or other sharp
objects (e.g. knifes, metal spatula, fork, etc) as it can damage the non-stick coating. If this happens, in future
it will be more difficult to remove the waffles from the baking surface.
• After baking the last waffle, pull the power plug out of the socket and allow the device to cool with the lid up.
Hints for better results
• Grease the hotplates. Spread the waffle dough quickly, to ensure the waffle top and bottom is evenly brown.
• Place the finished waffles on a grid, this way they stay crispy. Stacked waffles soften quickly.
