How to Adjust the System Relief
Valve
Note: Perform this procedure with the boom in the
stowed position.
Note: Refer to Function Manifold Component list to
locate the system relief valve.
Note: Auxiliary power will be used to perform this
procedure. Do not start the engine.

Connect a 0 to 5000 psi / 0 to 350 bar
pressure gauge to the diagnostic nipple (ptest)
located next to the auxiliary pump.

Simultaneously activate and hold the auxiliary
power toggle switch and the primary boom
retract toggle switch with the primary boom
fully retracted. Observe the pressure reading
on the pressure gauge. Refer to
Specifications,
Hydraulic Specifications
.

Locate the system relief valve on the function
manifold. Use a wrench to hold the relief valve
and remove the cap using an allen wrench.

Adjust the internal hex socket. Turn it
clockwise to increase the pressure or counter
clockwise to reduce the pressure. Install the
relief valve cap.
Tip-over hazard. Do not adjust
the relief valve higher than
specified.

Repeat step 2 to confirm relief valve pressure.

Remove the pressure gauge.

How to Adjust the Boom Down
Relief Valve
Note: Perform this procedure with the boom in the
stowed position.
Note: Refer to Function Manifold Component list to
locate the boom down relief valve.

Connect a 0 to 5000 psi / 0 to 350 bar
pressure gauge to the diagnostic nipple
located next to the auxiliary pump.

Start the engine from the ground controls.

Hold the function enable/rpm select toggle
switch to the high idle position and activate and
hold the boom down toggle switch with the
boom fully lowered. Observe the pressure
reading on the pressure gauge. Refer to
Specifications,
Hydraulic Specifications
.

Turn the engine off. Use a wrench to hold the
relief valve and remove the cap on the function
manifold.

Adjust the internal hex socket. Turn it
clockwise to increase pressure or
counterclockwise to decrease pressure. Install
the relief valve cap.
Tip-over hazard. Do not adjust
the relief valve higher than
specified.
6
Repeat steps 2 through 5 and recheck relief
valve pressure.
7
Remove the pressure gauge.
