Channel Interface Configuration Screen

At the SRM-6 Configuration menu, press

 2 

and then press

 Enter 

to access the Channel 

Interface Configuration screen, shown below. 

Table 3-3

 describes the screen selections, with 

defaults shown in

Special Considerations

•

Channel DCD will turn ON when Aggregate DCD is ON.

•

Overspeed is 1% (nominal) for asynchronous operation.

•

Channel DSR is always forced ON.

Channel Interface Configuration Selections

Selection

Description

[1] Channel Number

Selects a channel: 1 through 6.

[2] Channel Enable/Disable

Enable/

Disable 

the channel for sending/receiving data.

[3] Channel Rate

Sets the rate for the selected channel: 
1200 bps, 

2400 bps

, 4800 bps, 9600 bps, or 19200 bps

(Note: In 56/64 Kbps operation, 1200 bps is not available.)

[4] Mode of Operation

Sets asynchronous or

 synchronous 

operation for the selected 

channel.

[5] Async Character Length

Sets the async character length for the selected channel as: 8 bits, 9 
bits, 

10 bits

, or 11 bits (includes Data, Start, Stop, and Parity bits)

[6] TX Data Clock

Sets the TX Data Clock for:

ST

 (DCE Send Timing), or 

TT (DTE Terminal Timing)

[7] CTS Control

Sets the CTS action for the selected channel as:
Follows RTS (CTS follows RTS), or 

Forced ON

 (Force CTS ON)

[CR] Return to Previous Menu

Returns to the SRM-6 Configuration screen without saving channel 
interface configuration changes to the unit.

[S] Save

Saves channel interface configuration changes to the unit.

[0] Return to Main Menu

Exits the Configuration menu and returns to the SRM-6 Main Menu.
