3.13 PROGRAMMING MTS/STS
TRANSFER SWITCHES
The procedure for programming these transfer switches is
described in the transfer switch manual supplied with the transfer
switch.
3.14 MTS/STS TRANSFER SWITCH
MIMIC DIAGRAM
The functions of the touchscreen and Genlink mimic diagrams are
described in the transfer switch manual supplied with the transfer
switch.
3.16 THE TOUCHSCREEN
Due to The complexity of the PM-SC configuration, there is no
provision for programming the system from the front panel. All
configuration of the system must be done through the serial ports.
The front panel is used only for instrumentation purposes.
The front panel consists of a remote ¼ VGA backlit LCD display
with a touchscreen, two LEDs, and a three position keyswitch.
The three positions of the keyswitch are AUTO, OFF, and MANUAL.
When the keyswitch is in the OFF position, the PM-SC can not
start the generators. When the keyswitch is in the AUTO posi-
tion, the PM-SC will start the generators automatically based on
preprogrammed commands or transfer switch requests. When the
keyswitch is in the MAN position, the PM-SC will start the genera-
tors as though a two-wire remote start had been issued. This is
to allow the system to be activated in the event the two-wire start
request from the transfer switch is nonfunctional.
The left LED shows that the PM-SC unit keyswitch is NOT in the
AUTO position. The right LED indicates any alarm conditions along
with the internal alarm relay. The alarm can be cancelled by the
alarm acknowledge button on the display. The LEDS will flash
every 30 seconds to indicate the unit is switched on and work-
ing.
3.17 THE OPTIONAL REMOTE
TOUCHSCREEN DISPLAY
The optional, programmable, remote display can be mounted up to
1000m away from the generator or PM-SC. Only one display per
generator is allowed. The display has an IP65 front panel with an
IP20 rating for the rest of the housing. This means that the rear of
the panel must be protected if it is to be used outside. Normally it
would be mounted to the face of a sealed enclosure with the sup-
plied screw type clamps. The panel thickness should be <=6mm
and the mounting torque should be <=0.5Nm. The angle of incli-
nation must be less than 35 degrees from vertical.
