Visually check the general condition of the Rail Threader. Carry out a check of
the attachments (bolts, screws), re-tighten if necessary.
Remove the used grease from the moving parts.
If deformation or abnormal wear is noted, the parts must be replaced: use the
original parts of Geismar.
6 – 5 – 2 Cleaning
As far as maintenance is concerned, the term cleaning is to be taken in its widest
sense and it includes all routine maintenance operations, such as lubrication and
tightening. Regular cleaning is a form of inspection, during which those involved can
discover leaks, irregularities and damage at an early stage and will be able to deal with
them before these deteriorations lead to a breakdown or an incident.
