Check that the cardan shaft protection rotates freely
and secure the rotation with the appropriate chain.
Working in these conditions means limiting the
stresses on the power take-off itself and ex- tending
the life of the cardan shaft and the Generator Set
itself.
DANGER
The protection caps of both the Generator Set (9 Fig.
1) and both of the tractor, must cover the guards of
the cardan shaft by at least 5 cm, to avoid possible
and dangerous hooking during rotation of the shaft
itself.
THE AREA IN WHICH THE CARDAN SHAFT WORKS
IS CONSIDERED “DANGEROUS”. BE VERY CAREFUL
WHEN WORKING NEAR THE CARDAN SHAFT.
6) Connect the Generator Set to an effective earthing
system (22 Fig. 1), or by means of a stake (not
supplied as standard, which can be purchased as
an accessory).
CAUTION
Before starting to work, check that the various
switches (18, 20 and 21 Fig. 1), are in the lowered
position (not activated).
4.2 START-UP
1) Fix the 3-point kit supplied on a special box with
the relevant screws, bolts and fixing instruc- tions
(points 8 and 10 of Figure 1).
2) With the Generator Set always positioned on the
ground, start the tractor, with gear in neutral
position and the parking brake engaged to avoid
any movement during operation.
3) Set the rotation speed always using the 430 rpm
PTO speed (no load, no load) by accelerating
progressively until you see the expected value on
the Voltmeter (11 Fig. 1): Q1 = 230 Volt -
Q2 = 230 Volts and frequency of about 52 Hz
If different voltage and frequency values are
found, bring them back to the values described
above.
WARNING
The power that can be taken from the three-phase
socket is equal to the nominal one; on the 230 Volt
single-phase, it is 40% of the nominal power (phase
+ neutral). From the single-phase socket, a power
equal to the value in Amperes shown in the cover is
taken.
The nominal power of the Generator Set shown
in table «1.3.2 TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS»
is guaranteed up to an ambient temperature of +
40°C.
Use the Generator Set exclusively for the use for
which it was designed.
4) With the engine running, check for any abnormal
noise generated by inadequate connections of the
rotating parts.
5) Insert the plug of the electrical cable of the
equipment to be powered, to the relevant sockets
(15, 16 or 17 Fig. 1), depending on the required
load.
6) Switch the four-pole switch (18 Fig. 1) upwards to
power the sockets and therefore the loads.
7) Check that the Voltmeter (11 Fig. 1) indicates 400
Volts; otherwise, accelerate moderately until this
value is reached, then stabilize the accelerator at a
constant number of revolutions.
WARNING
DURING OPERATION THE GENERATOR SET MUST
ALWAYS BE RESTED ON THE GROUND.
4.2.1 STOP OF THE GENERATOR SET
1) To stop the Generator Set, just switch the four-
pole switch downwards (18 Fig. 1) and discon-
nect the cables of the connected equipment.
2) Switch off the tractor engine.
3) At each subsequent start-up, check the correct
operation of the differential switch. With the
Generator Set running at rated voltage, by
pressing the Test button (19 Fig. 1), the switch
should release.
4) Check the effectiveness of the grounding.
At the end of the use of the Generator Set and
providing for a non-immediate use of the same,
