1. DESCRIPTION AND CHARACTERISTICS
1.1 INTRODUCTION
This Use and Maintenance Manual refers to the
Generator Sets of the “G-THOR” range in the
versions: SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE manufactured
by LINZ ELECTRIC S.P.A., based in Arcole (Verona)
(hereinafter referred to as the Manufacturer), and
supplied to each single Gene- rator Set (hereinafter
also referred to as the machine). This Manual is an
integral part of the Generator Set and must always
accompany it in every move or resale. The User
is obliged to scrupulously and diligently follow the
instructions, warnings and all indications contained
in this Manual and in the other manuals that equip
the machine. If it is damaged or lost, a copy must be
requested immediately from the Manufacturer.
WARNING
Failure to comply with the provisions of this Manual,
operational negligence, in- correct use of the
Generator Set and the execution of unauthorized
changes, are grounds for the cancellation, by
the Manufacturer, of the warranty granted to the
machine. The Manufacturer also declines any and
all liability for direct and indirect damage due to
the above reasons and for failure to comply with
the provisions of this manual. All rights of this
publication are reserved to LINZ ELECTRIC S.P.A. Re-
productions or even partial disclosures that are not
duly authorized in writing are absolutely forbidden.
1.2 WARRANTY
The Manufacturer guarantees its new products from
the factory for a period of 24 (twelve) months.
- The alternator and multiplier are guaranteed
under the conditions and terms established by the
relevant manufacturers.
- The warranty terms start from the date of
purchase and cannot be extended. Within the
above- mentioned terms, LINZ ELECTRIC S.P.A.
undertakes to provide spare parts free of charge
for those parts that, at its sole discretion, or that
of an authorized representative, have manufactur-
ing defects or, at its discretion, to carry out the
repair directly or through authorized workshops.
- The expenses due to routine and extraordinary
maintenance interventions on the Generator Sets
are in any case borne by the Buyer.
- The replacements or repairs of the parts under
warranty will not in any case extend its terms.
- The right to performance under warranty is
recognized only if, once the defect is found, it is
immediately communicated to the Manufacturer
by sending the relevant repair request at the same
time.
- The Manufacturer gives the warranty at
its discretion, according to the technical
requirements, to the repair or replacement of the
defective parts.
- Without prejudice to the Buyer’s right to guarantee
performance within the aforementioned terms, it is
expressly excluded that the Buyer may request the
termination of the contract, the replacement of the
Generator Set or the reduction of the sale price,
as well as compensation for any direct or indirect
damage.
- In any case, transport costs, lubricants, VAT and
any customs duties remain the responsibility of the
Buyer.
- The Buyer will be able to assert its rights on
the guarantee only if it has complied with any
additional conditions on the provision of the
warranty, also reported in the supply contract.
1.2.1 WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
The warranty is void (in addition to what is shown in
the supply contract):
- When the Buyer has not complied with contractual
obligations.
- When the Buyer has not reported the defects to
the Seller within eight days of their discovery, in
writing and giving a mandate for the execution of
the related intervention.
- If the Generator Set or parts of it have been used
in a different way from the intended use.
- If the Generator Set was previously entrusted
for repair to a workshop not authorized by Mega
