2.1.3 SAFETY DURING THE USE AND
MAINTENANCE
- Wear suitable clothing. Avoid wearing loose and
fluttering clothing: it can be caught in moving
parts. Long hair should be tied. The operator
should also carry sharp tools in its pockets.
- During maintenance and repair operations, the use
of personal protective equipment is manda- tory
(PPE: Personal Protective Equipment), ear cuffs,
anti-cut gloves, anti-slip and anti-crushing shoes,
etc.
- Comply with the laws in force in the country
where the machine is used, regarding the use
and disposal of products used for cleaning and
maintenance. Always dispose of hazardous waste
through the appropriate authorized firms with
release of the receipt of disposal.
- It is absolutely forbidden to operate or have the
machine operated by anyone who has not read
and assimilated the contents of this manual, as
well as by non-competent personnel or staff not in
good physical and mental health conditions and in
any case under the age of 18.
- Before starting the machine, check the integrity of
all safety devices.
- Before starting work for the first time, familiarize
yourself with the controls and their functions.
- The area in which the machine is used is to be
considered a “dangerous zone”, especially for
peo- ple not trained to use it. Before starting the
machine, check that, all around the work area,
there are no people or animals or obstacles of any
kind.
- When a person is exposed, that is in the “danger
zone”, the Operator must immediately intervene
by stopping the machine to remove the person in
question.
- Periodically check the integrity of the overall
machine and its protective devices.
- Before carrying out any repair or maintenance on
the Generator Set, remove the cardan shaft.
- If the protective casings are removed, make
sure they are correctly restored before using the
machine again.
- Respect the compliance of the recommended
oils. Keep lubricants out of the reach of children.
