7.2 Hydraulic connections
Recommendation
Risk of frost : fi t the water supply and overfl ow pipes
with a device (insulation and/or heater) to protect them
against freezing.
7.2.1 Connection to the water supply
The water supply should preferably be connected by a
fl exible hose to the 15/21 threaded con fl ange.
Rigid pipe can also be used soldered to the 10/12 smooth
brass connector.
Note
It is a good idea to fi t a shutoff valve in the water in
order to make maintenance operations easier.
When tightening the fl ange connector, hold the fl oat valve
so that its water outlet is perpendicular to the bottom of
the base and the rod and fl oat valve can move freely up
and down.
Important
In order to prevent malfunctions of your
GENEGLACE and from a food hygiene point of
view, it is a good idea to fi t a water fi lter or purifi er
as required.
In fact, fi ltering the water supply may considerably slow
down the deposition of impurities in your GENEGLACE,
but not scale formation. For this reason, when the hard-
ness of the water is too high, the use of a softener is
required.
Important
In order to prevent malfunctions of your
GENEGLACE it is a good idea to fi t a device for pro-
tection against falls in pressure or water fl ow rate.
7.2.2 Overfl ow connection
In the event of malfunction of the fl oat valve, the ex-
cess water escapes through the overfl ow. The overfl ow
therefore prevents any overfl ow of water through the ice
descent hole and thus into the ice store.
The overfl ow water must fl ow into the drains as required
by the regulations.
The drain pipe must not have a rising portion that could
prevent the natural fl ow of water, and its slope must be
suffi cient.
7.3 Electrical connection
The type of electrical power supply is stated on the rating
plate attached to the generator.
Ensure that the electrical supply for your GENEGLACE
complies with the regulations in force and in the following
respects :
voltage (Volts)
three phase or single phase + Earth
frequency (Hz)
installed power (KVA)
nominal current (A)
Important
The cross section of the electrical supply cable
must be adequate for the installed power of the
machine (see rating plate) and comply with cur-
rent standards. An electrical protection device
complying with current standards must be fi tted
to protect the various parts of the machine. Using
the electrical diagram of the machine, check the
polarity of the electrical connection of single phase
generators.
Hydraulic and Electrical connections
An electrical control box is obligatory to control the opera-
tion of the generator. The electrical sequences and cur-
rent regulations must be followed (refer to the functional
diagram section).
The water consumption of your GENEGLACE is equal to
its ice production
the water supply pressure must be between 2 bar mini-
mum and 4 bar maximum. The water fl ow rate must al-
ways be constant and greater than that due to the water
consumption of your GENEGLACE. If this is not the case,
the installation of a pump and reservoir and/or an expan-
sion valve is essential.
