Care and cleaning of the range.
Be sure electrical power is off and all surfaces are cool before cleaning any part of the range.
Control Panel and Knobs
Clean up spatters with a damp
cloth. Remove heavier soil with warm,
soapy water.
Do not use abrasives of any kind on the
control panel.
The control knobs may be removed for
easier cleaning. To remove a knob, pull it
straight off the stem. Wash the knobs in
soap and water but do not soak.
Pull the knob straight off the stem.
How to Remove Packaging Tape
To assure no damage is done to the finish
of the product, the safest way to remove
the adhesive left from packaging tape on
new appliances is an application of a
household liquid dishwashing detergent,
mineral oil or cooking oil.
Apply with a soft cloth and allow to soak.
Wipe dry and then apply an appliance
polish to thoroughly clean and protect
the surface.
NOTE:
The plastic tape (on some models) must
be removed from all chrome trim. It cannot be
removed if it is baked on.
If your range is removed for cleaning, servicing or any reason, be sure the anti-tip
device is re-engaged properly when the range is replaced. Failure to take this
precaution could result in tipping of the range and cause injury.
Painted Surfaces
Painted surfaces include the top of
backguard and the sides of the range.
Clean these with soap and water or a
vinegar and water solution.
Do not use commercial oven cleaners,
cleaning powders, steel wool or harsh
abrasives on any painted surface.
Stainless Steel
Do not use a steel wool pad; it will scratch the
surface.
Clean with hot soapy water. Rinse and dry.
If food soil remains, try a general kitchen
cleaner, such as Fantastik®, Simple
Green® or Formula 409®.
For hard to clean soil use a standard
stainless steel cleaner such as Bon-Ami®
,
Cameo® or Bar Keepers Friend®
. Soils
can also be soaked several hours with
wet towels. Apply cleaner with a damp
sponge, rinse thoroughly and dry. Always
scrub lightly in the direction of the grain.
After cleaning, use a stainless steel polish such
as Stainless Steel Magic
®
.
Oven Vent
The oven is vented through an opening at
the rear of the cooktop.
Never cover the opening with aluminum foil or
any other material.
