Chapter 5. Clearing Data
Chapter 5. Clearing Data
5.1 Introduction
This chapter explains how to purge the Model GF868’s memory of various measurement totals and/or files. The
Clear
Menu
, which is accessed by pressing the
[CLR]
key on the keypad, is divided into three submenus:
•
TOTAL
- used to reset totalized measurement values
•
SITE
- used to remove site parameter files from memory
•
LOG
- used to clear log files from memory.
Note:
For detailed information on creating a log file, see Chapter 3,
Logging Data
. For detailed information on
creating a site file and for setting up the stopwatch totalizer, see Chapter 1,
Programming Site Data
.
For purposes of this discussion it is assumed that the left pane of the data display screen is active. If the right pane of
the data display screen is active, all of the instructions remain the same, except that any references to the
[F1]-[F4]
keys
should be replaced by the
[F5]-[F8]
keys.
IMPORTANT:
None of the clearing procedures available via the
Clear Menu
can be undone. Be very sure that the exact
consequences of a selected option are thoroughly understood before proceeding.
Refer to Figure 17 on page 93 and proceed to the desired section for detailed instructions. Each submenu may be
followed in the sequence shown or the [
and [
keys may be used to scroll through the prompts.
