Pour the slurry into the column (see Pouring slurry into the column, on page 74).

Fit the adapter and top plate onto the column (see Fitting the top plate and adapter,
on page 41).

NOTICE

Ensure that the full flow path is unrestricted when pumping
liquid into the column.

NOTICE

Insert the adapter into the mouth of the column tube at an
angle to ensure that no air is trapped in the column.

Place a syringe (without plunger) onto the hydraulic chamber vent valve, and open
the vent valve.

To pump liquid into the hydraulic chamber:
