Suction
Premie Blue can be used to simulate suction procedures.
4.2 Circulation
Palpable Pulses
Generate palpable umbilical pulses using the squeeze bulb.
Connect the squeeze bulb to the port on the left side of the simulator.
IV Access
Premie Blue has IV access in the
lower right arm that can be used for
bolus or intravenous infusion as well
as for draining luids.
The lower arm contains a vein groove
which is itted with a soft tube closely
simulating the consistency of the veins.
Applying pressure via the syringe permits the vein to stand out, simu-
lating a clenched ist or a tourniquet situation. Release of the pressure
simulates collapsed veins.
The IV training kit includes a blood dispensing syringe, synthetic blood
concentrate, and spare arm skin.
