Replacing Gateway Convertible Notebook Components
To replace the LCD panel lid:

Complete the steps in “Preparing the convertible notebook” on page 6 .

If the convertible notebook has IEEE 802.11 wireless networking built in, unplug the
antenna cables from the IEEE 802.11 mini PCI card by following the instructions in
“Replacing the IEEE 802.11 Mini PCI card” on page 24 .

Remove the four screws on the bottom that secure the LCD panel hinge to the chassis.

Turn the convertible notebook over so the top is facing up.

Remove the hinge covers by following the instructions in “Replacing the hinge covers”
on page 37 .

Open the LCD panel to the fully open position.

Remove the keyboard cover by following the instructions in “Replacing the keyboard
cover” on page 38 .

Remove the LCD panel by following the instructions in “Replacing the LCD panel
assembly” on page 44 .
Caution Be careful not to use too much force when opening the LCD panel.
