Write Precomp: This drive parameter is either Autodetected or entered
manually from the drive manufacturer’s documentation.

Multi-Sector Transfers: This parameter determines the number of
sectors per block for multiple sector transfers. Options for this parameter
are 2 sectors, 4 sectors, 8 sectors, 16 sectors, or Disabled.

LBA Mode Control: When
[Enabled]
, this parameter causes Logical
Block Addressing to be used in place of Cylinders, Heads, and Sectors
•
32-bit I/O: Enabling this parameter allows for faster data transfer rate.
•
Transfer Mode: Transfer Mode selects the method for moving data to/
from the drive. Options for this field are PIO modes 0-4 and Multiword
DMA Type 2. If you are not sure which option to select, use Autodetect
for optimum transfer mode.
Large Disk DOS Compatibility
Enable this feature if you have a disk with more than 1024 cylinders. This feature
works with DOS, OS/2, and Windows NT. Disable this feature if you are running
Novell or Unix.
Video System
Set this parameter to reflect the type of video card you have installed on the system.
The options are Monochrome, CGA 80x25, or EGA/VGA. For most
circumstances, select
[EGA/VGA]
.
Memory Cache

Memory Cache is defaulted to
[Enabled]
. Normally used for
troubleshooting speed-related problems, this parameter can enable or
disable both internal and the external cache

Cache System BIOS Area controls the caching of the system BIOS area
with the following settings:

Cache Video BIOS Area controls the caching of the Video BIOS area
with the following settings:
[Uncached]
and
[Write Protect]

Cache Base 0-512k sets cache policy of 512K base memory. Options
for this feature are Write Back, Write Through, and Uncached.
