A.1.5.6 Signal Battery Polarity
To utilize the signal battery polarity option, remove the jumpers in applications where the external
signaling battery is positive (+) with respect to chassis ground. In cases of positive (+) signaling
battery applications, both jumpers must be removed.
A.1.5.7 Installation
To install the MA-309C module adapter, perform these steps:
1. At the rear of the chassis, insert the adapter into the same slot position in which the VF-25 module
has been installed.
2. Once it is seated securely, secure the unit with screws provided.
3. Plug the connector into the adapter.
A.1.6 MA-310 Two-Wire, RJ-45 Connector
The MA-310 2-wire E&M interface module adapter provides 2-wire to 4-wire conversion for Intraplex
Products voice frequency channel modules with E&M type signaling. This adapter interfaces four
channels with 600  termination per channel. Audio frequency response is 300Hz to 3kHz +-0.5dB.
Nominal audio levels are 0dBm input, 0dBm output. Receive output levels of 0dBm, -3dBm and -
10dBm are selectable per channel as E&M signaling of Type I, II, III, and V.
The MA-310 module adapter is used in conjunction with the VF-25, VF-25E (for PCM coding), VF-27,
and the VF-27E (for ADPCM coding) voice frequency channel modules for 2-wire applications.
Termination of impedance is 600  . Receive gain settings of 0dB, -3dB, and -10dB are selectable per
channel (Figure A-10).
