Controller’s front panel: Temperature
•
Temperature display (Figure A4) : Displays the CCD operating
temperature in degrees Celsius when the First Light Controller is
connected to an UltraScan Camera.
•
Heatsink Switch (Figure A4) : Momentary switch. When depressed, the
temperature display monitors the temperature of the thermo-electric
cooler heat sink. Used to check water cooling efficiency of the
UltraScan camera.
•
Cool/Off/Warm (Figure A4): Controls the camera’s thermo-electric
cooler. In the Cool mode the camera will maintain a temperature of -25
degrees Celsius. The warm setting is used to quickly warm the camera
should venting the TEM be necessary and also for oil decontamination.
•
Reset Switch (Figure A4): momentary switch. If a heat sink
temperature in excess of 50 degrees Celsius is detected, the
thermoelectric cooler will automatically shut down and the LED above
the reset switch will be illuminated. The thermoelectric cooler will not
start again until either the reset switch is depressed or the controller is
powered down and back up.
