Hot water and steam could cause severe injuries and damage!
Always pour out hot water with special care and ensure not to spill the water or get
scalded by the steam.
10. Carefully pour the hot water. With the water boiling, always wait some seconds
for the water to stop boiling. Do not leave the water within the kettle uselessly, to
avoid excessive build-up of scale.
SOLVING PROBLEMS
If any problems occur during operation, you will find the solution in the following
table.

The appliance is not live. Ensure that the appliance is connected to a suitable
wall power outlet. Ensure that the wall power outlet is
live by connecting a lamp.
Check, if the kettle is connected correctly to the power
base. Turn it a little.
The overheat protection
system has been trig-
gered.
Empty the kettle and leave the kettle cool down for at
least 30 minutes. If required, de-scale the kettle. Then
try again.
A severe problem occur-
red.
Take the kettle off the power base and unplug the
power base. Get in contact with an authorised service
centre for examination and repair.
The kettle is placed on
the power base and
plugged in, but the
display is dark.
If no button has been
pressed for 30 minutes,
the kettle will switch
OFF completely to save
energy.
Simply press a button to reactivate the display.
The appliance is live, but
the water is not heated.
The overheat protection

gered.
The kettle has been operated without water or with too
little water. Empty the kettle and leave it cool down for
at least 30 minutes. Thereafter, fill the kettle with at
least 0.3 litres of cold water and try again.
Too much scale is covering the heating elements,
causing overheating. De-scale the kettle (see: ‘De-sca-
ling the Kettle’).
