3. Put the food to be cooked on the grill plates and turn the RACLETTE heating control dial to

the required position. (See: “Hints for Best Results“)
4. Turn the food with the supplied grill shovel.
Do not use any hard or sharp edged objects on the grill plates!

Using the Raclette Function

WARNING:

Risk of burns! Always keep in mind that the exterior of the appliance will get very

hot during operation. Especially, this holds for the grill plates. Only touch the appliance and its

parts and accessories by the dials and/or handles to avoid injuries.

Handle the raclette dishes with care! Do not spill any liquids in the appliance, especially when

preparing runny sauces. For this,

do not overfill the raclette dishes.

1. Ensure that the grill plates are placed properly on the bearing plate, the ribbed side facing

upwards. The grill plates must not tilt or wobble.
2. Select the maximum position (“+”) of the RACLETTE heating control dial (heating element of

the grill plates) to preheat the appliance.
3. During pre-heating you can fill the raclette dishes, but do not fill the raclette dishes more than

3/4 to the brim with liquid to avoid spilling the contents while moving the raclette dishes. DO

NOT overfill the raclette dishes!

WARNING:

Raclette dishes and their contents could be very hot! Only touch the raclette dishes

by the handles.

Do not spill the contents of the raclette dishes in the appliance, especially when inserting or

removing the raclette dishes. If any liquids are spilled in the appliance, switch OFF the heating

control dials, unplug and let the appliance cool down. Thereafter clean the appliance thorough-

ly. (See: “Care and Cleaning“)
4. After ca. 10 minutes of pre-heating, turn back the RACLETTE heating control dial to the

desired setting, and avoid spilling the contents, while inserting the raclette dishes in the upper

raclette level.
5. Empty raclette dishes or raclette dishes not in use can be stored in the lower raclette level.

Hints for Best Results

• The grill plates and raclette dishes are equipped with non-stick coatings. Just wipe the coating

with some drops of oil before first use. Thereafter there is no need for using additional fat.

• Select a low temperature to defrost and re-heat food. Use medium temperature settings to

cook seafood and scallops. Use high temperature settings (maximum position of the RACLETTE

heating control dial) for meat and poultry.

• Season meat and fish before cooking, but add salt only belatedly, to keep your dishes juicy.

• Cooking times depend on variances in ingredient thickness and special liking, but do not

over cook. Most meats are better served pink and juicy, and even vegetables are better, when

still crisp.

• Do not throw the ingredients into the hot liquid in the fondue pot. Use the supplied fondue

forks.

• The grill plates are suited best for cooking beef, pork, lamb and poultry, as well as fish fillets

and vegetable or fruit slices. Tougher cuts of meat should be marinated for a few hours or over-

night in a marinade with wine or vinegar to help break down the connective tissue. If necessary,

remove the bones before cooking.
