Getting Ready for Use

WARNING:

For operation always place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

During operation, do not place any clothes, napkins or any other foreign objects under, beneath

or on the appliance, in the raclette levels or fondue pot. Do not operate the appliance by using

any parts or accessories not recommended by the manufacturer (e.g. raclette dishes, fondue

pots). Do not place the appliance on or immediately near any power cord. Do not place heat-

sensitive, moisture- or fat-sensitive objects near the appliance. Do not operate the appliance

near any objects that could catch fire (e.g. curtains, candles, inflammable liquids as high-proof

alcoholic drinks or mineralized spirit).
Do not operate the appliance without the grill plates properly in place.
To avoid damage and injuries from splashes and hot liquids, do not overfill the fondue pot or

raclette dishes, especially when heating foodstuffs that will violently froth or splash. Do not place

any too large pieces of food, overhanging the edges, on the grill plates or in the fondue pot.

Otherwise hot fat, water or meat juice could splash and overflow and cause severe scalds and

damage. Especially when preparing fondue with oil, do not dip wet or frozen ingredients in hot

oil, to avoid splashes and boiling over.
1. Place the raclette on a suitable surface near a wall power outlet. (See: “Important

Safeguards“) Leave at least 30 cm of free space to walls, curtains, boards and other objects on

each side of the appliance. Ensure a good ventilation.
2. Ensure that there are no foreign objects in the raclette levels or fondue pot. If you do not wish

to use the fondue pot, take the fondue pot out.

CAUTION:

When using the fondue pot, ensure that there is ALWAYS at least 150 ml of liquid

in the fondue pot. Otherwise remove the fondue pot to avoid overheating.

The grill plates must be installed properly, even when not in use.
3. Ensure that the grill plates lay firmly in place on the bearing plate and will not tilt or wobble.

The ribbed, coated surface must face upwards.
4. Insert the plug in a suitable wall power socket. (See: “Important Safeguards for Electrical

Appliances“)

Preparing Fondue

WARNING:

Risk of Burns! The exterior of the appliance, especially the grill plates and the

lid of the fondue pot, will get hot during operation! Beware of hot condensate, splashes and

steam, when opening the lid.
When dipping food in hot sauces, oil and dips, the contents of the fondue pot could violently

froth and splash. Thus, do not fill in more than 500 ml, when preparing fondue with oil and oily

dips. Do not overfill the fondue pot!

Especially, do not immerse wet and frozen foods

in hot oil.

Dab wet foods and defrost frozen foods, before dipping.

Additionally, beware of splashing meat juices and fat, when using the grill plates simultane-

ously. Always maintain a sufficient distance to the grill plates with hands and arms, even when

the grill plates are not in use.

Protect your hands, arms, and valuable clothes with

suitable oven gloves.

The fondue pot is not suited for frying and steaming.

Only use the fondue pot with a

sufficient amount of liquid to avoid overheating

(at least 150 ml). Turn the FONDUE

heating control dial to the OFF position (“–”) and remove the fondue pot, when the fondue pot

is empty or is not to be used.
