Increasing or Decreasing the Steeping Time during Steeping
WARNING
– Pusher plate, pusher, and tea infuser may get hot during
brewing! If required, protect you hands.
With manual operation
(using the WATER function), you can move the tea infuser
in and out of the water at any time you like.
With automatic extraction (using the TEA button) it is quite easy to
increase the stee-
ping time
by immersing the tea infuser into the water again after steeping.
Please keep in mind that the appliance switches off completely, when you do not
remove the kettle from the power base within 5 minutes after steeping. In most cases,
you should use this time duration for replacing the filter system by the lid. When pla-
cing the kettle onto the power base thereafter, the keep warm function keeps running
quite as normal.
To
decrease the steeping time,
you need to cancel the running program via the
illuminated start/stop button TEA. The cantilever moves up in this case. If required,
grasp the pusher plate of the filter system and move the tea infuser manually.
NOTE: Please keep in mind, that there is no way to continue the program. Therefore,
the keep warm function does not start and the appliance returns to standby mode
immediately, showing the pre-programmed values of the recently used program on
the display. If you wish to keep your tea warm nevertheless, increase the temperature
by 5°C (9°F) and start the WATER function (see: ‘Heating Clear Water’).
MANUAL OPERATION
You can make your tea manually without any movement of the cantilever. In this
case, you lower the tea infuser into the water and lift it out after steeping manually.
This procedure may be useful, when you are trying out a new tea mixture, not know-
ing the appropriate steeping time.
WARNING
– The parts of the filter system may get hot during operation. Only
touch the pusher of the filter system by the top plate. If required, protect your hands.
1. Ensure that the keep warm function is activated (see: ‘Preferences’).
2. Prepare the filter system with the ingredients of your tea (see: ‘Preparing the Filter
System’).
3. Prepare the appliance for operation. Select the desired temperature (see: ‘Pre-
paring the Appliance for Operation’ and ‘Selecting or Setting Up a Program’).
4. Start the program via the WATER button. Wait until the set temperature is rea-
