MANUAL OPERATION
NOTE
For manual operation you should activate the keep warm function within the set-
tings menu (see: ‘Preferences’). You can perform an extraction manually by using
the WATER function (see: ‘Operation / Heating Clear Water’). Immerse the tea
infuser of the filter system via the pusher, as soon as the water reaches the set tem-
perature, indicated by the acoustic signal. Wait until the steeping process is com-
plete, then pull the pusher upwards, until the infuser cover touches the magnet hol-
der. With the keep warm function activated, the water is kept at a temperature of
approx. 5-10°C (9-18°F) below the set temperature (see: ‘Keep Warm Function’).
The displayed time can be used for keeping the desired steeping time.
NOTE
Even manual operation is quite easy, when using the provided filter system of
the appliance and the hot water function (see: ‘Recommended Usage of the Pro-
grams’). Via the pusher, you can move the tea infuser down and up manually wit-
hout effort. By simply pulling the tea infuser up until it touches the magnet holder,
the tea infuser is kept above the water level.
KEEP WARM FUNCTION
After steeping (TEA button is illuminated) or heating water (WATER button is illumi-
nated), the appliance switches to the keep warm function automatically. The keep
warm indicator (“KEEP WARM”) stays illuminated during the keep warm time. While
the keep warm function is running, the water is kept at the appropriate keep warm
temperature.
NOTE
The keep warm temperature is set to 5-10°C (9-18°F) below the selected tempe-
rature (“BREW TEMP”) and limited generally to 90°C.
IMPORTANT -
You can deactivate the keep warm function. In this case, the appli-
ance switches off after steeping or simply heating water. Additionally, you can
pre-select the maximum keep warm time from 15 minutes to 60 minutes (see: ‘Pre-
ferences’). However, after starting a tea program or user-defined program via the
TEA button, the appliance always enters a keep warm cycle of 5 minutes, showing
“BASKET” on the display. With a maximum keep warm time selected, the keep
warm function keeps running only when you removed the kettle from the power
base for a moment, while “BASKET” is shown on the display.
