gets hot when using the heater function. Do not touch the underside of the jar collar imme-
diately after heating.
WARNING: Do not
place any clothes or napkins or any other foreign objects under or
on the appliance or in the glass jar, when the appliance is connected to the power supp-
ly.
Do not activate the heater function when the glass jar is empty!
Risk of Burns!
The heating plate is mounted in the jar collar. During heating, the bot-
tom of the jar collar will get very hot.
Do not touch the bottom of the jar collar
immediately after using the heater function, and do not place the glass jar
on any heat-sensitive surface!
Glass jar, lid and measuring cup will become hot
during cooking and hot steam will come out of the opening in the lid around the measu-
ring cup.
Do not hold your hands, arms or face over the appliance!
During
operation and several minutes thereafter only touch the glass jar, lid, and measuring cup
by the handles to avoid scalds. If your recipe calls for adding further ingredients or you
wish to serve the prepared dishes, and you remove the measuring cup or lid for this pur-
pose, beware of condensate and steam.
Do not use any hard or sharp objects with the appliance (e.g. forks, knives), to avoid
damage to the surfaces. Do not use violence!
To avoid damage and injuries from splashes and hot liquids, do not overfill the glass jar,
especially when heating foodstuffs that will violently froth or splash. The maximum total
amount (after adding all ingredients) is:
• when using the heating function: 1400 ml.
• for cold meals and drinks: 1750 ml.
While adding the ingredients, carefully observe the level indicator on the glass jar.
If necessary, divide up the given amounts in your recipe accordingly. But also ensure
that there is ALWAYS a sufficient amount of foodstuffs in the glass jar (at least 30 ml of
liquid/fat or food with sufficient moisture content as fresh onions, leek and others), before
switching on the heating plate.
Do not process very hard and large pieces of food in your COOK & MIX. Cut large
pieces into 1 cm cubes before processing. If the motor stalls, turn the COOK & MIX Off
immediately, unplug and carefully remove a portion from the glass jar, then try again.
Do not leave any food dry on the appliance. Always clean the appliance after each use
to prevent a build up of baked-on foods (see Care and Cleaning). Do not process any
foodstuffs that are probably off. Always keep the appliance and the accessories clean.
Note: On first use, the appliance may smoke a little and release a slight odour. This is
harmless and caused by burning in the coatings of the heating plate. If this occurs again
later on, clean the appliance thoroughly. (See: „Care and Cleaning“).
1. Prepare the appliance for use. See: Assembling the COOK & MIX
2. Place the glass jar on a stable surface and pour the required ingredients into the
glass jar.
To fry ingredients such as onions, leek or garlic, put some fat in the glass jar directly
on the heating plate. Solid fats (e.g. butter, dripping) may not stick to the blades. Select
low heating temperatures first to melt the fat (Simmer button) according to the following
instructions. After melting the fat, add the ingredients to fry through the opening in the lid.
Note:
Use the measuring cup to measure small amounts of liquid. To remove the mea-
suring cup from the lid, grasp it by the handle, lift it up, and pull it out. To replace the
