Safety measures concerning the hydraulics:
1) When the hydraulic pipes are connected to the hydraulic
system of the tractor, make sure that the hydraulic systems
of the operating machine and the tractor are not under
pressure.
2) For hydraulic-type functional connections between the
tractor and operating machine, sockets and plugs must be
marked with colours, in order to prevent errors. It could be
dangerous if they were accidently confused.
3) The hydraulic system is under high pressure; due to the
risk of accident suitable auxiliary instruments should be
used when investigating possible leakage points.
ATTENTION
Before operating the hydraulic system of the row marker, apply
light pressure with your hand on the row marker arm in the
direction of the arrow (Fig. 38), unhook the safety devices on
both the arms (A Fig. 38), and then position them as shown in
Figure 38 (B). For travel on the road, lock the row marker arms
in a vertical position with the safety devices (A Fig. 38).
The row marker arms have a safety bolt (A Fig. 39) so that the
planter unit structure will not be damaged. If they happen to
bump into an obstacle, this bolt will break and so the row marker
arm will rotate to leave the equipment structure intact.
4.2.1 ROW MARKER ARM ADJUSTMENT
See Fig. 35 and observe the following rules for correct row market
arm adjustment:
L = D (N +1)
2
where:
L= the distance between the outer-most element and the row
marker
D= the distance between the rows
N= the number of elements working
Example: D= 13 cm (inch. 5); N= 23 elements.
L=13 (23+1)= 156 cm
2
Regulate the disc at the correct distance (Fig. 40), tilt itslightly
and firmly tighten the nuts.
For normal soils the correct working position of the disc is that
shown in Fig. 41 ref. A; for strong soils turn it over as shown in ref.
B Fig. 41.
