Check:
- The machine completely and look for loose and
damaged parts (screws, nuts, etc.).
- That the moving parts of the machine are not in
contact with any other object.
Tighten, repair or replace everything you need before
using the machine.
Do not use any accessory on this machine outside of
those recommended by Garland since its use could
result in serious injury to the user, machine, and the
people, animals and things close to the machine.
Check the oil level and make sure that it is between
the two marks on the dipstick that can be found under
the oil plug (9) input. If it is below the lowest level you
should refill the oil.
Check that there are no oil leaks in the machine. If you
detect leaks bring your machine in for service.
5.3.3. STARTING AND STOPPING THE MACHINE
1. Loosen the bleed screw until
the air can enter and exit the oil
tank without problems. The flow
of air that out through the bleed
screw hole should be detectable
during operation of the appliance.
If you do not loosen the bleed
screw, the air inside the hydraulic
system cannot leave, thus
compressing itself with every
cutting motion of the bandsaw.
This air pressure can damage the hydraulic system’s
seals, causing permanent damage to the machine.
